On May 7, 2026, Faure Gnassingbé, serving as President of the Council and supreme commander of the armed forces, undertook a critical visit to the Operation Koundjoaré zone in northern Togo. This strategic deployment aimed to evaluate the ongoing security situation and provide direct support to the forces actively combating terrorist threats in the region.
During this important mission, the supreme commander of the armed forces participated in an operational briefing at the Command Post. Following this, he proceeded to Tchamonga, an advanced position recognized as a strategic point within the comprehensive security apparatus.
Addressing the soldiers mobilized on the ground, Faure Gnassingbé expressed his profound appreciation for their unwavering commitment and steadfast determination in defending the national territory. He also issued updated directives intended to enhance the operational efficacy of the deployed units.
