The Ministry of Mines organised the official award ceremony for the “BUANYA” excellence competition on Wednesday, 24 June 2026 at the Pullman Grand Hotel in Kinshasa. This initiative, launched by Minister of Mines Louis Watum Kabamba, aimed to mobilise graduates of the National School of Administration (ENA) around the strategic drivers of the Congolese mining sector.
The ceremony took place in the presence of the Secretary General for Mines, heads of subordinate agencies, jury members, participating énarques and several guests. The programme included the announcement of results and the presentation of prizes to the winning teams.
Over several weeks, 48 énarques divided into six teams carried out in-depth research and analysis on key mining sector themes. These included mining governance, transparency and resource traceability, the fight against fraud, regulation of artisanal mining, geological exploration, equitable distribution of sector benefits and the development of new mining projects.
The Minister of Mines stressed that the Democratic Republic of Congo holds a central position in the global energy transition. He recalled that this strategic position imposes the responsibility to transform the country’s mineral resources into real development drivers, generating jobs, modern infrastructure and quality social services.
He also encouraged the laureates to remain ambassadors of excellence, integrity and change, reaffirming that tomorrow’s mining governance must be based on meritocracy, innovation, transparency and accountability.
This initiative is part of the vision of President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, implemented under the coordination of Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka, which places the valorisation of human capital and good governance at the heart of public action.
The ceremony ended in a convivial atmosphere with a group photo, marking the conclusion of an enriching experience and paving the way for greater involvement of the administrative youth in the transformation of the Congolese mining sector.
