Operating under the guise of multinational network marketing firms, these individuals lured young Cameroonians with promises of high-paying overseas jobs. Their scheme collapsed when national gendarmerie forces executed a decisive raid, resulting in multiple arrests.
A total of 13 individuals connected to a human trafficking network and fraudulent recruitment operation have been presented to the media at the National Gendarmerie headquarters in Yaoundé. The briefing was conducted by Deputy Director of Central Coordination of the National Gendarmerie, Atangana Fiacre Kisito.
The criminal enterprise, which operated under various aliases including QNET, IGNITE, and UNIMEC, specifically targeted students, unemployed youth, and job seekers. Two primary suspects, believed to be currently located in the Congo and the Central African Republic, remain at large as investigations continue across multiple Cameroonian cities.
