World Vision Tchad unveils ambitious 2026-2030 strategy for children
World Vision Tchad has launched its 2026-2030 strategy, a comprehensive plan designed to uplift the lives of 3.29 million children. This integrated approach seamlessly blends humanitarian aid, sustainable development initiatives, and peacebuilding efforts.
N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad recently unveiled its national strategy for 2026-2030 during a press conference held on July 9, 2026. The event, hosted at a N’Djamena hotel residence, brought together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities. This new roadmap outlines the organization’s ambitious goal to positively impact the lives of 3.29 million children by 2030, with a particular focus on 3.09 million of the most vulnerable. This will be achieved through enhanced interventions across crucial sectors including health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience.
Carla Dominique Denizard, World Vision’s Regional Director for West Africa, based in Dakar, characterized this strategic plan as both “bold and pioneering” in her address. She elaborated that the strategy is firmly rooted in the “Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus” approach, which is designed to forge connections between emergency responses, long-term sustainable development initiatives, and peacebuilding efforts. She affirmed that Tchad’s children deserve a life of abundance, a vision attainable through robust partnerships, strong community engagement, and the thoughtful integration of cultural and spiritual realities.
Continuing her remarks, Carla Dominique Denizard reiterated World Vision’s overarching vision for West and Central Africa: to ensure every child in the most fragile contexts not only survives but also flourishes completely. She highlighted that the region continues to grapple with significant challenges such as persistent insecurity, widespread multidimensional poverty, the escalating effects of climate change, and large-scale population displacements. In response to this complex situation, the organization has chosen an integrated methodology that combines humanitarian assistance, sustainable development, and peace consolidation.
The World Vision Tchad strategy, she explained, aligns with major continental and international frameworks, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063, specific Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Tchad’s own Vision 2030. It places significant emphasis on strengthening human capital, enhancing social protection mechanisms, adapting to climate change impacts, improving educational outcomes through the innovative Unlock Literacy program, and safeguarding children.
Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, the National Director of World Vision Tchad, took the podium to describe this launch as a “historic moment” for both the organization and the future of Tchadien children. He revealed that this new strategy represents a 20% increase in the organization’s aspirations compared to its previous strategic cycle. He stated that their ambition is straightforward yet profound: to reach 3.29 million children by 2030, including 3.09 million of the most vulnerable. “We aspire for every child in Tchad to not only survive but also to fully thrive,” he emphasized.
The National Director also underscored that Tchad continues to face numerous obstacles, notably pervasive poverty, malnutrition, recurrent humanitarian crises, and the severe repercussions of climate change. Data presented by World Vision indicates that nearly 42% of the Tchadien population lives below the poverty line, reinforcing the critical need to intensify efforts on behalf of the most vulnerable communities.
He detailed that the 2026-2030 strategy is built upon several core priority areas. These include bolstering integrated nutrition and health services with a specific focus on maternal and child health, enhancing education through the Unlock Literacy program designed to cultivate reading skills from early schooling, protecting children from all forms of violence, and strengthening community resilience against the impacts of climate change.
Following the presentation, World Vision Tchad leaders issued a collective appeal to all national stakeholders. They urged public authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and the media to unite their efforts to ensure the successful implementation of this strategy. The organization firmly believes that collective mobilization is essential to transform current challenges into lasting opportunities for Tchadien children. Through this 2026-2030 strategy, World Vision aims to actively contribute to the realization of Tchad’s Vision 2030 and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, ultimately building a nation where every child is protected, well-nourished, educated, and fully empowered to flourish.
