In Chad’s Lake Province, a region grappling with the aftermath of recent Boko Haram assaults, women have decisively united. On Friday, May 22, 2026, gathering in Baga-sola under the banner of the Provincial Women’s Network, they publicly declared their unwavering solidarity with the Defense and Security Forces, simultaneously urging collective unity against the persistent terrorist threat.
Led by Mme Achta Adoum Abdoulaye, president of the Provincial Women’s Network, a delegation of women visited the Baga-sola headquarters. There, they were welcomed by General Saleh Haggar Tidjani, the Government Delegate for Lake Province. Their core message was unequivocal: a firm reaffirmation of moral, physical, and material backing for the forces actively combating Boko Haram.
Speaking on behalf of the women of Lake Province, Mme Achta Adoum Abdoulaye commended the administrative and military authorities for their tireless efforts to curb insecurity and maintain stability across the region. She also vehemently denounced the terrorist attacks that tragically claimed the lives of several Defense and Security Force members, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the entire Chadian Nation.
To concretize their pledge of support, the delegation presented a donation of vital food supplies to the troops deployed in the operational zones.
Responding to this profound demonstration of solidarity, General Saleh Haggar Tidjani lauded it as « a surge of patriotism ». He underscored the pivotal role women play in fostering community resilience, strengthening social cohesion, and actively participating in the fight against violent extremism.
