Uniforme now mandatory for taxi-moto drivers in Kétou

In Kétou, a new regulation has been introduced requiring all taxi-moto drivers to wear uniforms. This initiative, covering all six districts of the municipality, aims to enhance passenger safety, improve driver identification, and streamline urban transport operations.

What the reform entails

The local authorities emphasize that the uniform will serve as a clear identifier, making it easier for passengers to recognize licensed drivers. Additionally, the initiative is expected to contribute to better traffic management and reduced incidents of reckless driving.

Registration process and deadlines

To implement this reform, a registration campaign will be conducted from July 6 to July 20, 2026, at the administrative offices of each district. Drivers must present valid identification documents during registration, which is a prerequisite for receiving the official uniform. Only those who complete this process and wear the uniform will be permitted to operate legally.

Failure to comply with these requirements will result in penalties as outlined in local regulations.

Community support and enforcement

Local leaders, taxi-moto associations, and security services have been tasked with ensuring the new rules are followed. Residents are encouraged to support the initiative by choosing only licensed drivers, thereby fostering a safer and more organized transport environment.
