Antoine Assalé Tiémoko, the mayor of Tiassalé, a vibrant cosmopolitan city located approximately 120 kilometers from Abidjan, has revealed plans for free communal transport services on weekends within the locality.
This innovative initiative is slated for implementation starting in late 2026, following an initial pilot phase.
”This measure is part of a broader strategy to redistribute the commune’s resources. Our municipal own funds, primarily derived from local taxes, have seen significant growth, rising from 24 million FCFA in 2019 to 91 million in 2025, with projections reaching 100 million in 2026,” explained Mr. Assalé in an official information note published on his Meta account.
The groundbreaking announcement was made by the mayor on Friday, May 22, 2026, during the 11th ‘day of accountability’ event held at Tiassalé’s wedding hall.
Assalé Tiémoko is a prominent figure, serving as both a politician and a journalist. He is the current mayor of the commune of Tiassalé and also presides over the political movement ‘Aujourd’hui et demain, la Côte d’Ivoire (ADCI)’.
