Tchad accelerates freight digitalization with BNFT’s groundbreaking training
The National Bureau of Land Freight (BNFT) concluded a pivotal workshop in N’Djamena to modernize land freight services through digital transformation.
The National Bureau of Land Freight (BNFT) has successfully wrapped up a three-day intensive training program in N’Djamena, marking a significant step toward digitalizing land freight services across Tchad.
Modernizing freight operations through digital tools
The workshop, held at the Kempinski Hotel in N’Djamena, brought together controllers and representatives from N’Djamena and Mayo-Kebbi. Its primary focus was equipping participants with cutting-edge digital tools designed to streamline freight operations and enhance administrative efficiency.
During the closing ceremony, Brahim Mahamat Adoum, chair of the steering committee, highlighted the participants’ dedication throughout the sessions. He emphasized that the training covered critical modules, including digital interface navigation, freight declarations, carrier management, system parameterization, and agency configuration. These innovations are expected to significantly improve operational oversight and reduce paperwork burdens.
Driving national digital transformation
BNFT’s leadership underscored that this initiative aligns with Tchad‘s broader public sector modernization agenda. The transition to digital systems for mandatory documents like the Lettre de Voiture Obligatoire (LVO) and Taxe à l’Essieu (TAE) is crucial for strengthening state revenue collection and ensuring compliance with transport regulations.
TRADELINK SOLUTIONS and SERVOO Consulting, the technical partners supporting the project, were recognized for their role in delivering expert guidance during the training. Organizers urged participants to apply their newly acquired skills to drive the digital freight revolution forward.
e-BNFT: a game-changer for freight management
Saleh Youssouf Erda, Director-General of the steering committee, stressed that the training centered on mastering the e-BNFT digital platform—a bold leap from traditional paper-based processes. The platform enables real-time issuance and verification of essential documents such as LVO and TAE, while also facilitating seamless, contactless management of freight documents via computers or mobile devices.
Erda also highlighted the platform’s role in securing state revenues and generating reliable statistical data to inform economic policy decisions. This digital overhaul reflects the administration’s commitment to President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno’s vision of a modernized government.
The closing ceremony concluded on an optimistic note, with calls for participants to champion the platform’s adoption and train their peers. The event reinforced the collective resolve to overcome digitalization challenges in public administration and land freight services.
