Matveï Safonov: 5
He was largely helpless against Kai Havertz’s close-range opener. Safonov truly put his body on the line with a crucial intervention in the 26th minute. In the second half, he made several more vital clearances, including a particularly strong one in the 74th minute.
Achraf Hakimi: 5
Hakimi demonstrated good recovery from his recent injury, making numerous high-intensity runs early in the match. However, he struggled to create significant impact from the right flank.
Marquinhos: 5
The Brazilian defender was culpable for the poor clearance that led to Arsenal’s opening goal in the 6th minute. Marquinhos delivered a mixed performance, at times too subdued. His extensive experience, however, proved invaluable late in the game, helping to calm proceedings when needed.
Willian Pacho: 4
The defender couldn’t recover in time for the English club’s first goal, despite a generally solid start to the match. The Ecuadorian also offered crucial contributions in aerial duels. While he made a few lapses in concentration during the second half, his overall play remained decent.
Nuno Mendes: 5
Mendes found it difficult to make an impact on his left side during the first half. The Portuguese full-back faced significant physical challenges and occasionally lacked technical precision. He appeared much more incisive in the second period.
Vitinha: 5
Initially shaky and struggling alongside the rest of the team, Vitinha eventually found his rhythm but was generally less impactful. He unleashed a good shot in the second half that narrowly went over the crossbar.
João Neves: 7
A true warrior, battling for every ball. Neves exhibited exemplary performance in duels. He was undoubtedly the best midfielder on the pitch, which likely explains why he played the entire match.
Fabian Ruiz: 6
Ruiz maintained his usual consistent form. His positioning was accurate, and his passing precise. He provided a valuable contribution in midfield battles.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia: 5
Initially well-contained by Mosquera, Kvaratskhelia eventually managed to draw a foul from his marker, earning a penalty. He faded somewhat afterward, struggling to create many opportunities against Arsenal’s strong defense. He was the first attacking player substituted by Enrique.
Ousmane Dembélé: 6
His decisive contribution is what will be remembered most. Often not supplied in optimal positions, he couldn’t consistently shine as he usually does. He scored a crucial penalty, demonstrating the courage required to convert in such a high-pressure environment.
Désiré Doué: 7
Doué delivered a superb pass to Ruiz in the 13th minute, though it didn’t find the target. He constantly sought to provoke the defense and was arguably the most dangerous Parisian player. A coolly taken penalty capped off his excellent performance.
Bradley Barcola: 5
His introduction allowed PSG to exploit spaces in behind the defense. He nearly made a decisive impact with one of his first touches but had fewer opportunities later in the game.
Luis Enrique: 5
His decision to start Hakimi proved generally satisfactory. Enrique spent a considerable amount of time instructing his defenders, who faced a challenging evening.
