The recent general assembly marked a pivotal moment for Morocco’s water sector, culminating in the election of a fresh leadership team. A new Board of Directors, comprising 27 members, and an Executive Committee with 12 representatives were chosen. These leaders collectively represent the full spectrum of stakeholders, from public institutions to private enterprises.
governance reforms and strategic updates
During the extraordinary session, delegates reviewed and approved both the association’s ethical and financial reports. A key highlight was the unanimous adoption of constitutional amendments. These changes aim to modernize the water sector’s regulatory framework, with a particular focus on bolstering industrial sovereignty and operational efficiency.
The Association Marocaine des Entreprises du Secteur de l’Eau Potable et de l’Assainissement (AMEPA), established in 1997, now unites over 95 active members. Its diverse membership includes public and private operators, regional multiservice companies, concessionaires, industrial players, and specialized engineering and construction firms in the water supply and sanitation fields.
vision for industry growth and regional impact
With this renewed governance structure, AMEPA is positioning itself to build a more cohesive and resilient ecosystem. The association is committed to elevating Morocco’s water industry—spanning engineering, innovation, and operational expertise—to global standards. Its strategic vision extends beyond national borders, seeking to strengthen the country’s influence across Africa and beyond.
