The Kingdom of Morocco has formalized its commitment to regional stability by signing the Participation Agreement for the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza. This landmark accord was executed in Rabat under the direct supervision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), as well as Chairman of the Al Qods Committee.
The signing ceremony took place during a high-level meeting chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita and Minister Delegate for National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi. Senior Moroccan military officials were present, alongside a delegation led by Nickolay Mladenov, Special Representative of the Gaza Peace Council.
Humanitarian and security-driven participation
According to an official statement from the National Defense Administration, this agreement underscores Morocco’s role as a founding member of the Gaza Peace Council, aligning with the Royal directives announced during the organization’s inaugural assembly in Washington. The Moroccan authorities emphasized the Kingdom’s unwavering dedication to peace, international cooperation, and solidarity.
The announcement highlighted Morocco’s extensive experience in United Nations peacekeeping operations and its long-standing commitment to fostering regional and global stability. In addition to deploying senior FAR officers to the ISF joint command, Morocco will contribute Royal Gendarmerie personnel and National Security Directorate (DGSN) cadres. A field military hospital will also be established as part of this initiative.
The signed agreement establishes the legal framework for the technical and operational aspects of Morocco’s involvement, reflecting a shared determination to restore peace and security in Gaza through humanitarian and security measures.
