This marked their second encounter since April 28, underscoring a commitment to consistent oversight of local government actions, assessing the performance of municipal executives, and fostering stronger collaboration between the state and local administrations.
During the meeting, the capital city’s chief magistrate provided President Oligui Nguema with a comprehensive update on the strategic roadmap he was tasked with upon assuming office on April 24. Mayor Mba also detailed the newly structured organizational chart for the City Hall. Furthermore, their discussions delved into crucial initiatives aimed at achieving lasting transformation for Libreville. Key projects included the comprehensive reorganization of urban spaces, the development of modern parking facilities, the establishment of new green and botanical areas, vigorous efforts to combat the unauthorized occupation of public land, and the enhancement of community infrastructure. The digitalization of municipal services was also a significant point of discussion.
President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema specifically highlighted the urgent need to accelerate urban sanitation efforts, reiterating that public cleanliness is a paramount requirement. In this regard, he emphasized the critical importance of improving household waste collection throughout the city.
