Hajj 2026: tchadian pilgrims receive safety and discipline guidelines

As the 2026 Hajj approaches, the National Office for Pilgrimage Organization (ORGEP) in Chad has issued a critical advisory for all Chadian pilgrims preparing to embark on the sacred journey. This announcement follows an international conference held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where global Hajj authorities outlined essential guidelines to ensure a smooth and secure pilgrimage experience.

The delegation representing Chad at the Jeddah conference was led by General Idriss Dokony Adiker, President of ORGEP, who underscored the importance of adhering to the directives set forth by Saudi officials. These measures are designed to protect pilgrims, maintain order, and uphold the sanctity of the religious rites.

strict safety and conduct rules for pilgrims

ORGEP’s advisory emphasizes several key restrictions and recommendations:

  • Political and partisan activities prohibited: Discussions or gatherings with political or religious agendas are strictly forbidden in hotels and across the holy sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah. Any form of organized political activity is also banned.
  • No unauthorized accommodations: Pilgrims are prohibited from hosting or accommodating individuals who are not registered to participate in the Hajj within hotels or at ritual sites.
  • Heat precautions during peak hours: Given the extreme temperatures in Saudi Arabia, authorities advise pilgrims to avoid outdoor activities between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM to minimize health risks. Extended walking between ritual locations is discouraged to preserve physical stamina.
  • Delegation of rites for vulnerable pilgrims: Elderly, ill, or physically challenged pilgrims may appoint a representative to perform the Ramy al-Jamarat (stoning of the pillars) ritual on their behalf.
  • Emergency assistance hotline: In case of urgent needs or difficulties, pilgrims are urged to contact the dedicated Saudi emergency number: 1966.

a call for vigilance and compliance

Through this advisory, ORGEP urges all Chadian pilgrims to prioritize safety and discipline throughout their Hajj journey. By strictly following these guidelines, pilgrims can contribute to a harmonious and secure pilgrimage experience for everyone involved.
