The Gabonese government has validated the second cycle of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) mechanism for evaluating the application of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
This milestone marks a significant step forward in the country’s efforts to combat corruption, following years of anticipation.
The Gabon, along with Uruguay, was selected by the UNODC to become an evaluation state and will assess the Seychelles’ compliance with key articles of the Convention.
These evaluations are expected to lead to several reforms, including the adaptation of legislative frameworks, strengthening dialogue between institutions, and enhancing capacity development.
The Gabon’s commitment to combating corruption is reinforced by its participation in this process.
