Forum du Justiciable defends Ousmane Sonko amidst Ndiaga Seck controversy in Senegal
Babacar Ba, who leads the Forum du Justiciable, has strongly defended Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, rejecting any attempts to connect him with the arrest of Ndiaga Seck. Ba labeled such insinuations as malicious, and his plea for safeguarding the Prime Minister’s public image highlights broader concerns regarding ethical conduct in judicial proceedings across Senegal.

Babacar Ba, president of the Forum du Justiciable, explicitly condemned efforts to draw a connection between Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko and the ongoing case of Ndiaga Seck, who was recently apprehended on allegations of engaging in acts against nature.
Speaking out, Babacar Ba asserted that Ousmane Sonko, as the head of government, embodies the entire governmental institution. He argued that any action aimed at “tarnishing his image” or “discrediting him personally” is unacceptable. The president of the Forum du Justiciable maintained that Ndiaga Seck’s arrest cannot be used as a legitimate basis for attempts to associate it with the Prime Minister, particularly with the intent to undermine his credibility.
Ba further emphasized that such maneuvers, in his view, directly contradict the fundamental tenets of the rule of law and should not be tolerated. His strong response comes as the Ndiaga Seck affair continues to generate considerable public discussion and diverse opinions.
