empowering 75 education inspectors in Côte d’Ivoire through digital training
during phase 2 of the digital skills development project for educational leaders and teachers (DCNPEE), 75 education inspectors from 25 Côte d’Ivoire regions enhanced their digital skills through a UNESCO-MENAET workshop held in Yamoussoukro from may 4 to 6, 2026. the workshop, organized by UNESCO and Côte d’Ivoire’s ministry of national education, literacy, and technical training (MENAET) via the directorate of technologies and information systems (DTSI), aimed to strengthen educators’ digital capabilities.
this training follows phase 1, which successfully trained 43 inspectors, demonstrating a commitment to equitable national coverage. the project aligns with Côte d’Ivoire’s national digital education strategy (SNDECI 2024-2028).
over three days, participants—education inspectors specializing in mathematics, life and earth sciences (SVT), and physics and chemistry—learned to use digital tools to boost teaching effectiveness and educational leadership. sessions covered creating engaging educational content, designing interactive presentations, and integrating artificial intelligence into teaching practices. the goal? to enhance lesson quality and make learning more dynamic and interactive.
participants praised the relevance of the modules, calling them perfectly suited to today’s educational challenges. UNESCO and DTSI emphasized the inspectors’ strategic role as key players in driving digital transformation among teachers across all regions.
this milestone marks significant progress in phase 2 of the DCNPEE project, funded by GIZ. the next major initiative will focus on building the digital capacities of IT managers, paving the way for a modern, inclusive, and high-performing Ivorian school system.
