The Côte d’Ivoire is preparing a language policy to value its national languages, as part of efforts to improve the quality of education.
A recent meeting at Grand-Bassam brought together education officials, experts, and partners to discuss ways to integrate national languages into school curricula, with the goal of making education more accessible and relevant to local contexts.
Minister N’Guessan Koffi highlighted the importance of preserving the country’s linguistic diversity as a valuable cultural asset that can contribute to educational development.
The meeting culminated in the adoption of a draft language policy, which aims to promote the use and appreciation of national languages in schools, thereby fostering inclusivity, academic success, and cultural preservation.
