The Chadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has once again issued a strong denial regarding claims that N’Djamena is plotting to destabilize the Central African Republic (CAR). Speaking over the weekend, spokesperson Ibrahim Adam Mahamat dismissed allegations of a subversive project targeting the neighboring state.
In a sharply worded statement, the ministry labeled the accusations as part of a disinformation campaign aimed at tarnishing Chad’s reputation and straining its diplomatic ties with the Central African Republic. It emphasized that these maneuvers were unacceptable and urged both media outlets and social media users to rely on verified facts rather than unverified claims.
The statement went further to affirm that Chad has never, nor will it ever, engage in any destabilizing activities against its African brother nations. The country’s long-standing policy of upholding sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference remains unwavering, as it believes the stability of the subregion is intrinsically linked to its own security.
President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno’s administration has repeatedly underscored its commitment to these principles, positioning Chad as a stabilizing force in Central Africa. Despite persistent allegations from other regional states accusing Chad of covertly supporting various armed factions—including the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in their conflict against the Sudanese army since April 15, 2023—N’Djamena continues to reject these claims outright.
