Cameroonian mp rolande ngo issi joins superior council of magistracy

The Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation (PCRN), led by Cabral Libii, has officially gained a position within the country’s governance structure, now working alongside the ruling RDPC. This significant development follows the appointment of Honorable Rolande Ngo Issi, a PCRN Member of Parliament, to the esteemed Superior Council of Magistracy.

Rolande Ngo Issi, a prominent Member of Parliament representing Nyong and Kellé for the PCRN, was officially named a member of the Superior Council of Magistracy through a presidential decree issued on June 2, 2026. This appointment signifies a new era of political collaboration in Cameroon.

Among other distinguished individuals joining the council are Sali Dahirou, former Minister of Public Service, and Soppo Toute Marlyse, an RDPC Deputy from Wouri. The list of appointees also includes Claude Francis Moukouri, previously the vice president of the Special Criminal Tribunal (TCS), alongside Albert Ekono Nna, Engelbert Bengono, Mekoulou Cunégonde Christine épouse Ngotty, and Roger Sockeng, among others.

Born in Yaoundé on January 9, 1981, Rolande Ngo Issi brings a wealth of experience to her new judicial role. She currently serves as a Deputy in the National Assembly and holds the position of alternate member of the Superior Council of Magistracy, a direct presidential nomination by Paul Biya. Her leadership extends to her role as Deputy Secretary General of the Network of Women Parliamentarians of Cameroon, a member of the national steering committee for the PCRN, and Secretary General of the party’s regional delegation for the Centre region.

Since April 2016, she has also been the national president of the National Consumers Movement (MNC), demonstrating her commitment to public advocacy.

Academically, Rolande Ngo Issi holds a Master’s degree in Child Psychology from the University of Yaoundé 1 – Nkoa Ekele, a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Yaoundé 2 – Soa, and a diploma from the École Normale Supérieure (ENS).

Her influence extends beyond traditional politics; she actively engages with thousands of followers on social media, where she champions Cameroonian youth empowerment and entrepreneurship. Her dedication to consumer rights led to her election as president of the Consumers Movement of Cameroon in 2016.

During a recent debate on budget orientation, Rolande Ngo Issi notably challenged the government’s import substitution policy. She posed critical questions regarding the state’s capacity to implement such initiatives effectively, citing persistent issues such as unreliable electricity, unstable internet connectivity, poor communication network quality in the digital age, and an oppressive, multifaceted tax system. She also highlighted the need for a truly equitable justice system.

Furthermore, she directly addressed the Minister of Finance concerning the plight of police officers who have not received their salary advancements since 2017, contrasting this with the automatic advancements granted within the military. “It certainly does not escape you that since 2017, no salary advancement has passed for the Police, while in the army, it is automatic,” she emphasized.

Before her distinguished political career, Rolande Ngo Issi was a successful entrepreneur and a personal development coach. She proudly notes her 11 years of experience as a teacher in rural communities, underscoring her deep roots and understanding of diverse Cameroonian realities.
