Government unveils recruitment drive for 2 305 civil service positions in 2026
The Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reform has officially announced recruitment plans for the 2026 fiscal year, with a total of 2 305 job openings across various state departments. This initiative follows the publication of 36 decrees outlining selection criteria and participation guidelines, signed by Minister Joseph LE on June 4. The detailed breakdown highlights the distribution of available roles.
Standard recruitment categories
The traditional hiring process includes several pathways:
- 890 positions through direct competitive exams, targeting professionals in financial régies, agriculture, mining, civil engineering, livestock, maritime fisheries, telecommunications, and public health;
- 100 positions via training exams at the National Institute of Youth and Sports (INJS) and National Youth and Sports Centers (CENAJES);
- 220 positions through training exams at the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM);
- 100 positions available through selection tests.
Special recruitment initiatives
Presidentially mandated programs in education and healthcare account for the largest share of openings:
- 1 200 roles in special categories, including 1 000 spots for free auditors at Teacher Training Colleges (ENS) and Higher Normal Schools of Technical Education (ENSET);
- 200 additional roles reserved for specialist physicians, complementing 920 healthcare positions announced in April recruitment drives.
Candidates applying under the free auditor category will select their preferred school placement during application, with exams held at regional centers corresponding to their chosen institutions.
Professional exams and reduced opportunities
A further 215 positions will be filled through professional competitive exams. Compared to 2025’s recruitment cycle—which featured 2 860 openings—this year’s intake represents a 555-position decrease in available roles.
