During an alleged phone conversation, the former Prime Minister reportedly made highly critical statements regarding Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
At a recent press briefing orchestrated by Pastef-Les Patriotes, Deputy Amadou Ba revealed what he presented as the authentic account of telephone exchanges that purportedly transpired between Ousmane Sonko and Aminata Touré. These alleged conversations took place while the current Prime Minister was incarcerated. Ba’s revelation further underpins his ongoing defense of the head of government amid the controversy surrounding public funds management.
According to the parliamentarian, the former Prime Minister, Aminata Touré, voiced profound disapproval of Bassirou Diomaye Faye during this specific call. “Diomaye is incapable of leading this nation. If you leave him in charge here, he will not last two years,” Aminata Touré reportedly conveyed to Ousmane Sonko, as detailed by Amadou Ba.
Amadou Ba now finds this alleged declaration difficult to reconcile with Aminata Touré’s current political stance. He suggests that she is actively attempting to “alter history” and revise past events to align with the evolving political landscape and power dynamics.
Despite the increasingly spirited exchanges between the two political camps, Amadou Ba appealed for moderation, advocating for restraint rather than escalation. “He pushes us towards violence, and we will not succumb to it,” Ba asserted, reaffirming Pastef’s steadfast commitment to prioritizing political discourse over direct confrontation.
