Ndiaga Seck’s testimony on Ousmane Sonko under investigation in Senegal

Key revelations emerge in Senegal’s judicial probe involving political figures

Matam Ndiaga Seck, a 51-year-old political figure, was defended before a judge in Linguère on Monday after being detained by authorities under serious allegations. The investigating magistrate at the Louga Regional Court placed him under custodial detention following accusations of unnatural acts, an ongoing case that has drawn significant attention in Senegal.

During his interrogation, Seck reportedly made statements that shed new light on the investigation’s scope. According to accounts of the proceedings, he claimed that Ousmane Sonko—a prominent political opponent—had no knowledge of his private life or alleged sexual orientation. The declaration, expressed in Wolof as « Xamul woon li may dund »—meaning “He knew nothing of my private affairs”—has become a focal point in the unfolding legal saga.

Judicial proceedings intensify across multiple regions

The case, which originated in Linguère and extends into the Djoloff region, continues to expand as authorities pursue additional leads. Multiple arrests have been recorded in connection with the investigation, signaling a broader inquiry into the allegations. Judiciary officials are meticulously examining the roles and responsibilities of all individuals mentioned in the case file.

At this stage, Ousmane Sonko has not issued any public response to the claims attributed to Ndiaga Seck. As standard legal protocol dictates, all parties involved remain presumed innocent until proven otherwise through definitive court rulings.
