Kenya commends Chad’s vital role in global security and africa forward summit

Kenyan President William Ruto acknowledged the strong bilateral ties between Kenya and Chad this Wednesday, May 15. He specifically commended President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno’s dedication to fostering international security and ensuring the successful outcome of the Africa Forward Summit.

Following discussions at State House with his Chadian counterpart, President Ruto characterized the diplomatic relationship as “built upon shared values, mutual respect, and African solidarity.” He emphasized both nations’ commitment to aligning their stances to advance the interests of African peoples, promote continental progress, and enhance global cooperation.

The Kenyan head of state further lauded Chad’s involvement in the United Nations-backed Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti. He noted that this crucial engagement significantly contributes to global endeavors aimed at re-establishing “peace, stability, and hope” within the Caribbean nation.

Finally, President William Ruto extended his gratitude to the Chadian President for “Chad’s significant contribution” to the successful Africa Forward Summit, which took place in Nairobi this week. This summit occurred amidst a concerted effort by France and various African partners to redefine their economic, political, and security cooperation frameworks.
