The Independent Electoral Commission (CEI) in Côte d’Ivoire, a persistent source of political friction and a constant point of contention between the executive branch and opposition parties, has finally been dissolved. This significant development was announced by government spokesperson Amadou Coulibaly on May 6. Coulibaly affirmed that this decision marks the beginning of “a new era,” emphasizing that the primary objective is to “sustainably guarantee the organization of peaceful elections in” the country.
