N’Djamena recently hosted the 5th tripartite forum, bringing together representatives from Chad, Cameroon, and the Central African Republic to address critical issues concerning transit and sub-regional commerce. This significant event commenced on Monday, May 11, 2026, highlighting the nations’ commitment to enhancing regional trade efficiency.
The official inauguration of the proceedings saw the active participation of Major General Ousman Brahim Djouma, Director General of Customs and Indirect Duties for Chad. He was joined by a diverse group of high-ranking customs and port officials, alongside prominent economic operators from all three participating countries, underscoring the broad stakeholder engagement.
Presiding over the opening ceremony was Fatimé Goukouni Weddeye, the Minister of Transport, Civil Aviation, and National Meteorology. Her leadership emphasized the strategic importance of this collaborative initiative for the region’s logistical framework.
Throughout the discussions, attendees focused on meticulously analyzing the various obstacles that impede the seamless flow of goods along the vital Trans-Cameroonian Corridor.
