A new political movement, alternative crédible, emerges in côte d’ivoire

Grand-Bassam, Côte d’Ivoire – A fresh political force, dubbed Alternative Crédible (ACR), was unveiled to the press on Saturday, July 4, 2026. This new movement aims to present a distinct political offering to the Ivorian populace.

During the press briefing, Oxyde Tano, who serves as the national executive secretary for ACR, articulated the foundational principles, ambitious goals, and overarching vision of the organization. He emphasized that ACR seeks to provide substantive solutions to the pressing socio-economic and democratic challenges facing Côte d’Ivoire.

The initiative itself originated on December 1, 2025, born from the collective will of women, men, and young people from diverse backgrounds. Their shared determination is to introduce an innovative approach to politics within Côte d’Ivoire.

Mr. Tano highlighted that ACR’s formation stems from a widely acknowledged reality: despite its significant human and natural resources, Côte d’Ivoire continues to grapple with numerous difficulties. These include the escalating cost of living, high youth unemployment, persistent social inequalities, deficiencies in public services, and deep-seated social divisions.

Positioning itself as a left-wing political movement, Alternative Crédible firmly places human well-being at the core of its agenda. Its vision is to forge a Côte d’Ivoire that is “just, prosperous, reconciled, democratic, solidary, and steadfastly respectful of the rule of law.”

Operating under the compelling slogan, “Tomorrow is decided today,” ACR is committed to promoting a style of governance rooted in transparency, open dialogue, and a relentless pursuit of the common good. The movement ultimately aspires to unite the nation’s vibrant forces around a credible political project, thereby contributing to the establishment of a more effective state, a more inclusive economy, and a more equitable society.

ACR’s leadership outlined the primary pillars of their political platform, which encompass job creation and entrepreneurship for young people, enhancing the educational system, ensuring access to quality healthcare, modernizing agriculture, guaranteeing personal and property security, advancing women’s rights, combating the high cost of living, fostering economic development, protecting the environment, and strengthening national unity.

Oxyde Tano affirmed ACR’s readiness for dialogue with all political and social entities that share its core values of peace, democracy, social justice, and development. He assured that particular attention would be directed towards young people, women, workers, economic operators, students, and the Ivorian diaspora.

The national executive secretary further announced that the movement’s official public launch is scheduled for August in Cocody. At this pivotal event, ACR President Bamba Abou will formally present the movement’s comprehensive political vision and the key orientations of its program.

Leading up to this ceremony, a series of awareness tours, general assemblies, the establishment of local coordination bodies, and national mobilization and membership campaigns are planned across the entire Ivorian territory.

“The moment has arrived to inscribe a new chapter in our history,” concluded Oxyde Tano, reiterating ACR’s profound ambition to contribute to the construction of a Côte d’Ivoire that is “more just, stronger, and more prosperous.”
