Cameroon’s Commerce Minister, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, has launched a major promotional sales initiative in Yaoundé.

The initiative, which runs from June 22 to September 30, 2026, at the Boulevard du 20 Mai, aims to make essential goods more accessible for families during the peak summer season.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Commerce explained that this campaign, developed in partnership with local businesses, aligns with government efforts to address rising living costs. It seeks to ease the financial burden on households while ensuring students have access to affordable school supplies ahead of the 2026-2027 academic year.

According to the Minister, while the campaign officially kicks off in Yaoundé and its surrounding areas, it will expand nationwide through mobile promotional caravans. This approach ensures broader reach, including major cities and remote communities alike.
