N’Djamena — World Vision Tchad has unveiled its ambitious 2026-2030 national strategy, marking a significant step forward in improving the lives of the country’s youngest citizens. The initiative, launched during a high-profile press conference in the capital, outlines a comprehensive plan to reach 3.29 million children by 2030, with a strong focus on the most vulnerable groups.
The strategy integrates humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and peacebuilding efforts, reflecting a holistic approach to addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by children across the country. The event brought together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities, all gathered to witness this pivotal moment for Chad’s future generations.
The heart of the strategy: protecting and empowering children
During the launch, Carla Dominique Denizard, West Africa Regional Director for World Vision, emphasized the transformative potential of the new roadmap. Describing it as « bold and forward-thinking, » she highlighted its foundation in the « Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus » approach. This framework ensures that emergency interventions seamlessly transition into long-term development and peacebuilding efforts, creating lasting change for children in Chad.
« Every child in Chad deserves the chance to thrive, not just survive, » Denizard stated. « Achieving this requires strong partnerships, deep community engagement, and a deep respect for local cultures and spiritual values. » She also underscored the critical challenges facing the region, including persistent insecurity, multidimensional poverty, climate change impacts, and mass displacement, all of which demand integrated solutions.
Aligning with global and continental goals
The 2026-2030 strategy is designed to align with key continental and international frameworks, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Chad’s own Vision 2030. These alignments ensure that World Vision’s efforts contribute to broader national and global priorities, such as strengthening human capital, enhancing social protection, and adapting to climate change.
The strategy also prioritizes education through the Unlock Literacy program, which aims to improve early reading skills, and child protection initiatives to shield children from violence and exploitation. By focusing on these areas, World Vision Tchad seeks to create a foundation for children to grow, learn, and develop to their fullest potential.
A historic moment for Chad’s children
Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, described the strategy launch as a « historic milestone » for the organization and the children of Chad. He noted that the new plan represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to previous cycles, with a clear and bold goal: to reach 3.29 million children by 2030, including 3.09 million of the most vulnerable. « Our mission is simple yet profound: to ensure that every child in Chad not only survives but thrives, » he said.
Wangoy also highlighted the harsh realities facing Chad, where nearly 42% of the population lives below the poverty line. Chronic malnutrition, recurring humanitarian crises, and the far-reaching effects of climate change further exacerbate these challenges, making the need for targeted interventions even more urgent.

To ensure the success of the 2026-2030 strategy, World Vision Tchad has called on all national stakeholders—government authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and the media—to join forces.
