World Vision Tchad’s Bold 2030 Strategy to Transform Children’s Lives
N’Djamena — World Vision Tchad has unveiled its groundbreaking 2026-2030 national strategy, marking a significant commitment to uplift the lives of 3.29 million children across the country. The ambitious roadmap was formally introduced during a high-profile press conference in N’Djamena, bringing together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities.
An Integrated Approach for Lasting Impact
The strategy centers on a holistic model combining humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and peacebuilding efforts. This approach addresses the most pressing challenges faced by children in Chad, including malnutrition, limited access to education, and vulnerability to climate-related disasters. By 2030, the organization aims to reach 3.29 million children, with a special focus on protecting 3.09 million of the most vulnerable young lives.
During the launch event, Carla Dominique Denizard, Regional Director for West Africa, emphasized the strategy’s innovative nature. “This is not just another plan—it’s a transformative blueprint designed to create lasting change in children’s lives,” she stated. “We are committed to ensuring every child in Chad not only survives but thrives, through strong partnerships, community engagement, and culturally sensitive interventions.”
Aligning with Continental and Global Goals
The 2026-2030 strategy is meticulously aligned with Chad’s Vision 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16). Key priorities include:
- Health and Nutrition: Strengthening integrated health services with a focus on maternal and child health, alongside combating malnutrition.
- Education: Expanding the Unlock Literacy program to enhance early childhood reading skills and ensure more children complete their education.
- Child Protection: Intensifying efforts to shield children from violence, exploitation, and harmful practices.
- Climate Resilience: Building community resilience to climate shocks through sustainable agriculture, water management, and disaster preparedness.
Carla Dominique Denizard highlighted the critical role of collaboration: “No single organization can tackle these challenges alone. We need collective action from governments, donors, civil society, religious leaders, and the media to turn these ambitions into reality.”
A 20% Increase in Ambition
Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, described the launch as a historic milestone. “This strategy represents a 20% increase in our ambitions compared to previous cycles,” he explained. “We are determined to reach more children than ever before and empower them to build brighter futures.”
Chad continues to grapple with deep-rooted challenges, including extreme poverty, recurrent humanitarian crises, and the devastating effects of climate change. With nearly 42% of the population living below the poverty line, the need for targeted interventions has never been greater. The new strategy seeks to address these issues by fostering sustainable development, improving social protection systems, and promoting peacebuilding initiatives.
Call for Collective Action
World Vision Tchad concluded the event with a powerful call to action, urging all stakeholders to join forces in implementing the strategy. “Together, we can transform the current challenges into sustainable opportunities for Chad’s children,” the leadership emphasized. By leveraging local knowledge, cultural values, and innovative solutions, the organization aims to create a future where every child in Chad is protected, nourished, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential.
