
The 51st General Assembly of the Assemblée parlementaire francophone (APF) commenced its opening session with solemnity on July 9 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. A delegation from the Vietnamese National Assembly was present among the distinguished participants at this significant international gathering.
The event drew an impressive array of over 350 delegates, featuring nearly 20 presidents and vice-presidents from APF member parliaments, alongside representatives from the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), diplomatic missions, and other international bodies. Notable attendees included the President of the Cameroonian Senate, the President of the Cameroonian National Assembly, and the President of the Cameroonian Economic and Social Council. Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary-General of the OIF, also graced the occasion, underscoring the high-level engagement at the assembly.
Discussions at this 51st APF General Assembly are set to focus on critical issues spanning politics, democracy, economic development, social welfare, cultural exchange, and environmental protection. The overarching aim is to foster stronger parliamentary cooperation and collectively devise solutions to the shared challenges confronting the global Francophone Community.
