The Sahrawi representatives stressed the importance of integrating Sahrawis for Peace into the United Nations-backed negotiation framework. The U.S. political advisor conveyed Washington’s strong commitment to ending the prolonged deadlock in Western Sahara. This meeting follows a recent gathering in New York, where a Sahrawis for Peace delegation met with the permanent representatives of the United States, France, and the United Kingdom to the United Nations. It comes just before the United Nations Security Council’s upcoming session on the implementation of Resolution 2797, which has received broad international backing for advancing a political and peaceful solution to the Western Sahara question.
