Tchad and Libya set to launch direct flights between N’Djamena and Benghazi
Chad and Libya are strengthening bilateral ties with plans to establish a direct air link between N’Djamena and Benghazi, boosting economic and consular cooperation.
On July 13, 2026, Libya’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdelhadi Al-Houij, convened a high-level meeting in Benghazi with Hassan Ahmat Daissire, Chad’s Consul General, alongside Aboubakar Sidick Mahamat Abagana, the Consular Attaché. The talks centered on deepening bilateral cooperation across consular services, trade, transportation, and communications. A key highlight was the proposal to introduce a direct air route linking N’Djamena and Benghazi, designed to streamline mobility and foster stronger exchanges. The voluntary repatriation program for Chadian nationals was also discussed, coordinated with relevant authorities and international bodies. Both delegations reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the historic and fraternal bonds between Chad and Libya.
