Tchad-Algérie: Sonelgaz boosts energy partnership with 50 MW plant project

The Algerian delegation from Sonelgaz International, currently in N’Djamena for a working mission focused on a new power plant project, is wrapping up its visit to Chad. To celebrate the conclusion of their stay, the Minister of Water and Energy hosted a formal dinner in their honor at a local hotel.

The evening featured traditional dances, a shared buffet, and a ceremonial cake-cutting, showcasing the deep ties between Chad and Algeria. Following three days of intensive technical discussions, site inspections, and field visits to the selected location for the upcoming power plant, the Sonelgaz International team expressed their commitment to supporting Chad in expanding its energy production. The goal is to enhance electricity access for local communities.

Chadian officials view the 50 MW power plant project as a powerful gesture of solidarity and a tangible demonstration of the strong relationship between Chad and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.

The exchange of symbolic gifts with the Sonelgaz International delegation brought the evening of camaraderie and cooperation to a close.
