Burkina Faso and Benin deepen bilateral cooperation on security and economic growth
The leaders of Burkina Faso and Benin convened in Ouagadougou to advance joint initiatives addressing security challenges and economic development during an official visit.
The President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, welcomed his Beninese counterpart, Romuald Wadagni, in Ouagadougou for an official visit centered on revitalizing bilateral ties. The talks highlighted security cooperation and economic partnerships, with a strong focus on combating terrorism and expanding infrastructure development.
Both leaders emphasized the strategic role of the Port of Cotonou for Burkina Faso’s trade flows. They also agreed to expedite preparations for the 5th Session of the Joint High Commission for Cooperation, a key forum for strengthening cross-border collaboration.
The visit concluded with an official invitation extended by the Beninese President to his Burkinabè host, signaling continued commitment to mutual progress.
