« C’est une fierté pour nous » : Serigne Khalifa Kounta soutient Ousmane Sonko à Ndiassane

Addressing the President of the National Assembly, Serigne Khalifa Kounta notably proclaimed, “Ndongo daara le, arabisan le, ku mokeul alxourane le.”

Serigne Khalifa Kounta, the esteemed spokesperson for the Khadre Sufi order, showered Ousmane Sonko with profound commendation. The President of the National Assembly had journeyed to Ndiassane, participating in events leading up to the annual Gamou celebration scheduled for Tuesday, September 1st.

In his address to the National Assembly President, Serigne Khalifa Kounta specifically articulated: “Ndongo daara le, arabisan le, ku mokeul alxourane le.” This Wolof declaration translates to acknowledging the National Assembly President as a “child of the daara,” signifying an individual deeply rooted in the Quranic educational framework. Such a background, he conveyed, represents a significant source of pride for both the educational and religious communities.

Khadre brotherhood’s endorsement for Sonko

He further elaborated, declaring, “This is a profound source of pride for us, the doumou daara (children of the daara),” thereby emphasizing the Khadre brotherhood’s deep connection to Ousmane Sonko and acknowledging his distinguished trajectory.

This public statement of support follows the exceptionally warm reception extended to Ousmane Sonko upon his arrival in Ndiassane. During that visit, he was personally welcomed by the General Khalife of the Khadre order, Serigne Sidy Mahtar Kounta, alongside his official spokesperson.
