Royal throne speech outlines Morocco’s strategy for global economic leadership
His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s annual throne speech, delivered on the 27th anniversary of His glorious ancestors’ accession to the throne, presents a forward-looking strategy to strengthen Morocco’s position in an increasingly competitive global economy, according to political scientist and Moroccan-American academic Mohamed Daâdaoui.
This year’s address underscores a Royal vision that has consistently guided the nation’s progress over the past decades, emphasizing long-term planning, efficient execution, and sustained investment as the pillars of Morocco’s development model. The speech highlights how stability, security, and strong institutional performance have created an enabling environment for growth.
The Monarch’s address went beyond a routine review of achievements, instead outlining a roadmap for future resilience. Key sectors identified for strategic development include advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, aerospace, defense industries, and resilient supply chains. These industries, Daâdaoui noted, are critical to positioning Morocco as a competitive player on the global stage, especially amid mounting economic challenges worldwide.
The speech also reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment to building a more diversified economy, one driven by innovation, industrial growth, and technological advancement. By focusing on these high-potential areas, the Kingdom is laying the groundwork for long-term prosperity and adaptability in an unpredictable global economy.
