Randal Kolo Muani opens up on tottenham struggles amid juventus return excitement

Randal Kolo Muani has candidly reflected on his challenging spell in the Premier League, attributing part of his struggles at Tottenham to his deep desire to return to Juventus. The French striker’s highly anticipated move back to Turin has now been completed, making him the most expensive French player in the club’s history.

Disrupting focus at White Hart Lane

The 27-year-old attacker admitted his mind was not fully engaged during his time in North London, where he struggled to recapture the form that had once made him one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers. Over the course of his season-long loan at Tottenham, Kolo Muani managed just five goals and four assists in 41 appearances across all competitions—a performance that ultimately convinced the club against making the move permanent.

In a rare interview, he shared: « Several factors didn’t work in my favor. For me, it was something more personal. I think my mind was elsewhere—I wanted to go back to Juventus. Every player’s career isn’t perfect; we all have ups and downs. This was one of those seasons where I learned a lot. I faced injuries, my first serious ones, but thankfully, I recovered fully. Looking back, it was a mix of things. Now, though, it’s a fresh league, a fresh start. I feel like I’m a new version of myself.»

The arduous journey back to Turin

The negotiations to bring Kolo Muani back to the Allianz Stadium were far from straightforward, dragging on through a tense summer period that tested the patience of all involved. Yet, the striker remained steadfast, driven by an unshakable bond with the club and the city of Turin.

He revealed: « I was well aware of the situation. I discussed it with my representatives and my family, and we worked through it thoroughly until we reached an agreement. The transfer process itself took time, but we did everything necessary to make my return happen. I’m extremely happy and proud to wear this jersey again.»

Spalletti’s vision fuels ambition

A key factor in Kolo Muani’s decision was the endorsement from Luciano Spalletti, who identified the French striker as a top priority for his tactical project. The attacker is eager to meet the demands of the former Napoli and Italy manager, whose attacking philosophy aligns perfectly with his strengths.

He expressed: « Honestly, I was thrilled that the coach showed such clear interest in me. I understand his coaching style, what he expects from his attackers, and the standards he sets. Playing for this club is an honor, and I’ll give everything to perform at my best and showcase my abilities.»

A season of high-scoring targets

Spalletti has reportedly designed a system tailored to maximize Kolo Muani’s impact, and the player is ready to embrace the challenge. His hunger for goals is palpable as he prepares for a new chapter in Serie A.

He concluded: « I’m happy to hear that. If that’s his approach, then I’m all in. I’ll listen to his advice, follow his guidance, and give my all. I’m extremely eager to score as many goals as possible.»
