PASTEF prepares for congress, Ousmane Sonko’s leadership set for renewal

As PASTEF moves forward with its critical preparations, the party has officially opened the submission period for presidential candidacies ahead of its upcoming congress. This significant internal event marks a key moment for the political formation.

The party’s Haute Autorité de Régulation du Parti (HARP) issued a statement outlining the timeline for aspiring candidates. Submissions for leadership positions will be accepted from May 15, 2026, at midnight, through to May 20, 2026, at noon.

HARP also confirmed that all necessary declaration forms are readily available for individuals keen on contesting the party’s top leadership role.
