Paris Deputy Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire confirmed the decision not to establish a large public fan zone for the match between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Arsenal, a move that the Préfecture de Police had previously advised against.

“It’s not the right moment,” Grégoire conceded. Nevertheless, a screening of the match on a giant screen is planned within the Parc des Princes, which will still necessitate a substantial deployment of law enforcement personnel.

Authorities will maintain a particularly high level of vigilance, mindful of the 2025 final. Last year, following the Champions League victory, police conducted over 500 arrests after celebrations in Paris and other regions were marred by various incidents.

More recently, after PSG’s semi-final victory against Bayern, 127 individuals were apprehended across the Parisian agglomeration, with eleven sustaining injuries, one seriously, and 23 police officers suffering minor injuries.

Anticipated transport saturation
