In a formal ceremony steeped in tradition, the European Union’s freshly appointed ambassador, Amador Sanchez Rico, formally presented his credentials to Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno this past May 19th.
The event took place at the Palais Toumaï, with Fatimé Aldjineh Garfa, Deputy Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responsible for African Integration and Chadians Abroad, in attendance. The ambassador was accompanied by Sona Jarosova, Head of the Political Section, and Karl Rawert, Head of Cooperation for the European Union Delegation in Chad.
This solemn act marks the official commencement of Ambassador Sanchez Rico’s three-year mission in Chad, signaling the beginning of a new chapter in bilateral relations between the European Union and the Republic of Chad.
