Ready to Serve: A New Wave of Child Protection Agents

After a year of dedicated effort, these specialized agents are now prepared to enter their professional fields. This cohort of professionals, focused on safeguarding children and adolescents, will significantly bolster a crucial component of Benin’s judicial system. The solemn ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Mr. Florentin Gbodou, Director of the Cabinet of the Minister of Justice, and Mrs. Bernadette Houndekandji Codjovi, Director of the EFPJ.

Elite Training: Blending Theory and Practice

The Director of the EFPJ took the opportunity to highlight advancements in the training curriculum. The program is now strategically divided into two key phases:

  • Six months dedicated to theoretical studies, establishing a strong foundation in legal and pedagogical principles.
  • Six months of practical application, providing direct immersion into the realities of the profession.

“Your mission with minors in conflict with the law or in situations of moral danger is vital for strengthening our judicial protection framework,” emphasized Mrs. Bernadette Houndekandji Codjovi to the graduates.

Responsibility and Humanism: Guiding Principles

Representing the graduating class, Mr. Dalil Bankolé Idohou, expressed profound gratitude to the teaching staff. He reaffirmed the cohort’s commitment to practicing their duties guided by a clear triad: responsibility, humanism, and professionalism.

Mr. Florentin Gbodou, speaking on behalf of the Keeper of the Seals, urged the new agents to uphold integrity by focusing on:

  • Meticulous case management.
  • Dedicated support for vulnerable children.
  • Proactive prevention of juvenile delinquency.

Imminent Deployment

A symbolic presentation of the esteemed diplomas marked a significant moment of the event. These newly qualified professionals will soon be assigned to the Keeper of the Seals, ready for deployment within various supervised education facilities across the nation.

This graduation represents another stride in modernizing Benin’s justice system, prioritizing education and social reintegration in the care of its younger citizens.
