N’Djaména clears public roads to boost safety and traffic flow

The municipal authorities of the 7th arrondissement in N’Djaména have initiated a major cleanup drive along the Taïwan Avenue this Monday, targeting chaotic encroachments that have long disrupted traffic and compromised public safety.

Under the direct supervision of Mayor Adoum Hassan Djimet, the operation focuses on dismantling illegal structures, removing unauthorized street vendors occupying the roadway, and addressing stray animals that contribute to hazardous conditions.

During a community address, the mayor emphasized the urgency of the situation, citing frequent traffic jams and preventable accidents as direct consequences of these encroachments. “Open roads save lives. Every citizen must play their part in maintaining order. Lives are lost daily because reckless obstructions turn our streets into deadly traps,” he stated.

In a firm stance against persistent violations, the mayor warned that strict enforcement will follow. “Anyone obstructing public roads will face immediate legal action, and their goods will be confiscated. Stray animals will also be impounded to restore order,” he declared.
