On Wednesday, Morocco reiterated its steadfast commitment before the African Union’s Peace and Security Council (PSC), stressing the critical need to enhance safeguards for children impacted by armed conflicts. This commitment specifically highlights efforts to prevent their recruitment, ensure their safety, and facilitate their long-term reintegration into society.
During a PSC session focused on “the protection of child soldiers in Africa,” the Moroccan delegation underscored the stark reality that children continue to bear the brunt of ongoing conflicts across the continent. They face severe threats, including forced recruitment, pervasive violence, and disruptions to their education, all of which profoundly jeopardize their future prospects.
