The Moroccan Attorney General, Hicham Balaoui, who also serves as President of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, held a working session in Rabat on July 9 with Ousmane Abderamane Djougourou, Chad’s Inspector General of the Independent Anti-Corruption Authority. The meeting was part of a working visit aimed at exploring Morocco’s proven strategies in preventing and combating corruption.
Strengthening legal and institutional frameworks
During the discussions, Hicham Balaoui outlined the key components of Morocco’s anti-corruption system, highlighting the legal and institutional framework that underpins it, as well as the penal policies implemented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The conversation also delved into comparative best practices in corruption prevention, according to an official statement.
Digital tools to empower citizens
The Chadian delegation was introduced to several initiatives spearheaded by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, including a dedicated hotline for reporting corruption and embezzlement, as well as the digital platform e-TABLIGH. This secure system enables citizens to report suspected corrupt acts while ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of their submissions through cutting-edge digital safeguards.
