Morocco shares anti-corruption insights with Chad

The Prosecutor General of the King at the Court of Cassation and President of the Public Prosecution, Hicham Balaoui, hosted a significant working session in Rabat on Thursday, July 9. His counterpart from Chad, Ousmane Abderamane Djougourou, who serves as the Inspector General of the Independent Anti-Corruption Authority, was in attendance. This high-level meeting formed part of a broader working visit by the Chadian delegation, aimed at comprehensively understanding Morocco’s established experience in both preventing and combating corruption.

During the discussions, Hicham Balaoui detailed the core components of Morocco’s robust anti-corruption framework. He highlighted the comprehensive legal and institutional structures that have been implemented, alongside the strategic criminal policy pursued by the Presidency of the Public Prosecution in this vital area. The exchange also delved into various comparative best practices observed globally in the collective effort against corruption.

Furthermore, the Chadian delegation gained valuable insights into several innovative initiatives spearheaded by the Presidency of the Public Prosecution. These included the direct telephone hotline specifically established for citizens to report instances of corruption and embezzlement. They also explored the advanced digital platform known as “e-TABLIGH.” This cutting-edge tool empowers citizens to anonymously report alleged corrupt acts, ensuring secure and efficient processing of all submissions through state-of-the-art digital technologies.
