On Thursday, July 9, the Moroccan Attorney General to the Court of Cassation and head of the Public Prosecution, Hicham Balaoui, hosted a working session in Rabat with Ousmane Abderamane Djougourou, the Inspector General of Chad’s Independent Anti-Corruption Authority. The meeting was part of a working visit aimed at exploring Morocco’s proven strategies in combating corruption through prevention and enforcement.
Strengthening institutional frameworks against corruption
During the discussions, Hicham Balaoui outlined the core components of Morocco’s anti-corruption system. He emphasized the legal and institutional structures established to tackle corrupt practices, along with the strategic penal policies implemented by the Public Prosecution. The exchange also delved into comparative best practices in corruption prevention and detection.
Digital tools and citizen engagement
The Chadian delegation learned about key initiatives launched by the Public Prosecution, including a dedicated hotline for reporting corruption and embezzlement, as well as the digital platform e-TABLIGH. This secure reporting tool enables citizens to file complaints about alleged corrupt acts while ensuring confidentiality and rapid processing through advanced digital technologies.
