Top military officials from Morocco and Mauritania convened in Nouakchott this week for a series of high-level engagements aimed at deepening bilateral defense ties. Led by General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces (FAR) and Commander of the Southern Zone, the delegation engaged in critical discussions with Mauritanian counterparts.
During the visit, General Berrid met with President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghezouani at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott, accompanied by Ambassador Hamid Chabar of Morocco. The meeting underscored the strong diplomatic and military relations between the two nations, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to regional stability.

Following the presidential audience, General Berrid visited the Mauritanian Ministry of Defense, where he was received by Defense Minister Hanana Ould Sidi.
