Mali’s armed forces (FAMA) have reported neutralizing nearly a hundred armed fighters in coordinated military operations across the northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat. The missions, conducted on Tuesday, targeted militants linked to the Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM) and the Front for the Liberation of Azawad (FLA).
According to an official statement, the operations involved 13 precision airstrikes that not only neutralized fighters but also resulted in the destruction of six combat vehicles and a pickup truck. The statement emphasized the disciplined and resolute approach of Mali’s military in combating armed groups across the country, reaffirming their commitment to sustained counter-insurgency efforts in collaboration with allied partners.
The Africa Corps, an allied force supporting Mali’s operations, confirmed through a social media post that the strikes had set ablaze a significant number of militant vehicles. Additionally, one of their drones successfully targeted a vehicle transporting ammunition and military equipment, further disrupting the militants’ logistical capabilities.
In a separate communiqué, the Russian Africa Corps highlighted the success of these joint operations alongside Mali’s armed forces. They vowed to persist in striking militant positions and destroying their assets, reinforcing their role in the ongoing security efforts within the region.
