The newly appointed Governor of Lions Club International’s District 403-A2, Mr. Jean Pierre HILLAH, commenced his official regional tour across the four nations within his district, making Côte d’Ivoire his initial stop. On Monday, August 31, 2026, Dr. Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA, the Minister of Planning and Development, hosted Governor HILLAH at his office for a significant meeting.

District 403-A2 encompasses Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, with five distinct regions situated within Ivorian territory. The Lions Club International primarily focuses its efforts on youth empowerment and initiatives aimed at safeguarding the environment.

The esteemed organization emphatically reaffirmed its dedication to supporting the implementation of Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan (PND) for the 2026-2030 period.

The Minister of Planning and Development underscored the timely nature of this visit, noting that Côte d’Ivoire had recently embarked on a fresh cycle of its comprehensive National Development Plan.

The PND 2026-2030 embodies the strategic vision of His Excellency President Alassane Ouattara, aiming to elevate Côte d’Ivoire to the status of an upper-middle-income country by the year 2030.

Furthermore, the Minister highlighted the substantial engagement of various partners rallying around the PND 2026-2030. He reiterated that government actions are meticulously aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

These productive discussions have paved the way for a collaborative partnership, specifically targeting key sectors such as youth development, healthcare, education, and environmental conservation.
