Justice minister Laurent Esso attends Alexis Dipanda Mouelle’s funeral rites in Yaoundé
The Cameroonian Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Laurent Esso, paid a solemn visit to the Yaoundé General Hospital morgue on the morning of June 25, 2026, to participate in the funeral preparations for Alexis Dipanda Mouelle, former First President of the Supreme Court.

As part of his official duties, Laurent Esso, Cameroon’s Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, attended the solemn ceremony marking the lifting of Alexis Dipanda Mouelle’s mortal remains. Dipanda Mouelle, who previously served as First President of the Supreme Court, received a dignified farewell in the capital.
The ceremony was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Laurent Esso’s counterpart, the Deputy Minister of Justice, alongside Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute and Jean Nkuete, Secretary-General of the Central Committee of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM).
The gathering at the morgue reflected the nation’s respect for a prominent figure in Cameroon’s judicial system, whose legacy continues to shape legal proceedings in the country.
